Square One is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) company located in Phoenix. Autism, which now affects 1:59 Arizona children, affects over 2 million in the individuals in the U.S. and tens of millions worldwide. The unemployment rate for individuals with developmental disabilities is nearly 90%. Less than 10% of young people and adults with autism, including those that are high-functioning, are gainfully employed. Square One is excited to be involved with a program called BE SAFE. The BE SAFE program encourages a very important conversation between our law enforcement officers and our young people and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Square One is excited to be offering BE SAFE screenings, where our law enforcement and young people will be sitting down and viewing episodes from BE SAFE the Movie, which utilizes video modeling to show scenarios and provides an important discussion that helps police officers understand autism more and gives the tools to our young people so they can stay safe and interact more independently in their day to day life.Read More
